Kindergarten graduation

[Yet another post I started and never finished- from JUNE]

Dear Scarlett,

Almost 4 years ago, Daddy and I sent you on your first day of school.  The skirt you wore that first day, I just pulled it out of your drawer because it finally stopped fitting in some capacity.

Today was kindergarten graduation- you are now a big kid, and leaving your first Montessori classroom.  Graduation day was 90+ degrees and you've been sick, but you rallied enough health for a lovely morning.  The ceremony was perfect- you kindergartners sat in a semi-circle with your self-portraits in front of you, parents and friends behind you, facing the teachers.  There was a bubble-soaked walk around the circle and a celebration of each child, some songs, all during a really peaceful day at Oxbow Park.

Now, it's time for summer camp with the big kids. This means putting on your own sunscreen, field trips, and more freedom.  You are ready for it, my dear, but I am not.

We love you fiercely for always.
Emily
