A day with Scarlett

Every night, she wears the same long-sleeved, flannel, Christmas nightgown to bed.  I don't know where that nightgown came from, but it's probably 2 sizes too big.  When it's in the laundry, she's sad.

Arnie is usually her twin- always the younger twin.  Occasionally she's his mom and I'm his grandma.  But usually he is the twin, and I am mom to both of them.

"I will love you on the encore."  (long pause)  "What is the encore?"

Today she rode her bike in a princess costume and then told me that she wants to be a princess, and live with a king and queen.  I told her I would miss her too much.

Scar-ism

"Mama, you're the best witch I ever heard of."

(We weren't even talking about witches. I don't know where this came from.)

Scar-ism

"Dad, I have exciting news, I have a blister on my toe."

(the next day, the blister remains.  And so..)

"Dad, I have some exciting news. I have a toe growing out of my toe!"

She says the costume makes her faster

A turtle on a bike.  At least, if she falls, there's a lot of padding.

"Mommy, I might not want to sleep with my husband when I'm bigger. I might want to sleep up here on my loft bed."
